This post will answer all the questions above. So let’s move on…

Why AdSense is the Best Ad Network?

Many bloggers still consider AdSense as the best Ad network due to several reasons. The main reason is the high CPC (Cost Per Click) and high CTR (Click Through Rate). AdSense shows personalized ads based on the search history made by the user and hence, advertisers get more clicks for their ads.

Another reason is that AdSense is Google’s ad network, hence it is trustable and they give timely payments. Its per click rates are higher than any other networks such as Infolinks and Shorte.st, and so all bloggers and publishers run after AdSense for better earnings. There is no limit to how much one can earn from AdSense, but to get a payment, one should earn at least $100.
Since everybody is running after them, they have made their approval system very strict. A website should completely follow their rules and policies to get approved and should not contain anything that is spammy or even anything that looks spammy. You make little mistakes that you don’t even notice, and your AdSense application is rejected.
Here are few reasons why your AdSense application might get rejected:

Reasons Why You Didn’t Get AdSense Approval

The most common AdSense disapproval reasons are given below.

1. Unacceptable Content

Your blog/website should have some content, say 10+ posts so that the readers, as well as the AdSense reviewers, can understand what your blog is about. Google gives much importance to the content since showing ads in irrelevant websites can repel advertisers from AdSense.
The content should be unique, and it should not be violating any rules or copyrights. For example, if your blog contains cracked software, copyright-protected images or adult content, your AdSense application will be rejected.
So write genuine content and make others understand that you are serious about blogging and your website.

2. Site does not comply with Google AdSense Policies

The website should be receiving organic traffic from social media, search engines or referrals and not from websites that send spam traffic or from pay per click programs. Also, the content should be unique and meaningful and the website should be easy to navigate.
So stay away from spam traffic websites and generate organic traffic to your blog.

3. No Privacy Policy, About Us or Contact Us Page

AdSense, in their program policies, says:
AdSense publishers must have and abide by a privacy policy that discloses that third parties may be placing and reading cookies on your users’ browsers, or using web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving on your website
So you must have a Privacy Policy page to get AdSense approval. When I applied for AdSense, WhyBlogger didn’t have a privacy policy page and I had not noticed this requirement by AdSense. As a result, it took 5 re-submissions and 3 months to get my AdSense application approved.

4. Design of your blog

According to Google AdSense,
Sites showing Google ads should be easy for users to navigate. Sites may not change user preferences, redirect users to unwanted websites, initiate downloads, include malware or contain pop-ups or pop-unders that interfere with site navigation.
So you must have a good theme for your blog which is attractive and easy to navigate. You can add a search button and page navigation to improve the user experience. Or else, you may download one of our AdSense ready themes which are designed according to AdSense needs.

Things to do to get AdSense Approval

1. Write High-Quality Content

The first thing to do before applying for AdSense is to write high-quality content that attracts visitors to your blog and creates a good impression in them. Your blog will be reviewed by humans and you should impress them to get AdSense approval.
A High-Quality content is:
  • Long enough, say 500 words minimum
  • Unique and original
  • Free from grammar and spelling mistakes
  • Having proper headings and sub-headings
  • Search Engine Optimised

2. Create a Privacy Policy Page

You might think what difference would a Privacy Policy/Disclaimer page would make. A Privacy Policy page is as important as applying for AdSense since it is a must in European countries. European Union laws instruct all the websites to disclose the cookie information they collect from the readers. So it is sure that no Privacy Policy/Disclaimer page means no Google AdSense.
Also, having a Privacy Policy means that you are not a scam, value customer rights and is a serious business. Google will look for the rest of your blog only if you have a Privacy Policy page.

3. Improve Your Blog Design

You don’t like the websites which load slow, has a bad design, say yellow background with white text and irregularly arranged sidebar, do you? Nobody does, nor does Google. A clean professional theme which loads faster is preferred by internet users including me and you.
Your blog design is the first thing that a user notice, second is the content quality. This represents your professionalism and experience. So choose a theme which has the following features:

4. Check Your Traffic Sources

Google hates spam websites as well as the websites that receive traffic mostly from spam websites. So if you were getting traffic from spammy websites, your AdSense application might get rejected. You may use any other methods to get traffic such as search engines and social media, but paid traffic websites are mostly spam and will kill your blog.
The best methods to get traffic for your blog are:
  • Search Engines
  • Social Media
  • Backlinks

5. Create a Contact Us Page

Contact Us page is important because it gives your blog more authority and trust. Your readers may want to contact the person behind the blog personally for various reasons such as for help, giving feedback or for reporting broken links.
Create a Contact Us page and include the link to the page in the site navigation. Add your email address and social profiles on the Contact Us page.
By having a Contact Us page, you are telling people that you care for your readers and they can contact us anytime.
Adding the same email address that you entered when applying for AdSense on the Contact Us page will increase the chances of your AdSense application getting approved.

6. Remove Other Ad Networks

If you are using some ad networks such as Infolinks, Chitika, Clicksor etc, remove them all from your website. Some ad networks cannot be used along with AdSense, so if you are using any one of them, your AdSense application might get rejected.
Having too many ad banners can also cause disapproval by AdSense since it affects the website quality and the advertiser satisfaction. So make your blog ad-free.
Some networks such as Infolinks can be used along with AdSense. So you can use them again after getting AdSense approval.

7. Create an About Us page

An about us page is not as important as Privacy Policy page and Contact Us page, but still having an About Us page will increase the chances of your AdSense application getting approved.
An About Us page should have all the information about your blog and the authors. Write about your goals and the topics which you like to write on the blog. This will increase reader relationship as well as the trust of your blog.

8. Give Correct Details in AdSense Application

Google sends a verification code to your address to verify that it’s you. So entering a wrong address and wrong details about you might cause your AdSense application getting rejected forever. Be honest, be original.

9. Check Your Niche and Language

AdSense does not approve applications for websites from certain niches and certain languages. If you happen to be blogging in one of those niches or languages, your AdSense application will be rejected.
AdSense supported languages are given below.
Arabic German Polish
Bulgarian Greek Portuguese
Chinese (simplified) Hebrew Romanian
Chinese (traditional) Hindi Russian
Croatian Hungarian Serbian
Czech Indonesian Slovak
Danish Italian Slovenian
Dutch Japanese Spanish
English Korean Swedish
Estonian Latvian Thai
Filipino Lithuanian Turkish
Finnish Malay Ukranian
French Norwegian Vietnamese

Some of the niches that are not supported by Google AdSense are:

  • Pornography
  • Copyright Violated Content
  • Hacking
  • Illegal Drugs
So if you have written something about the above niches or in above languages, you can stop dreaming about AdSense approval, or else you can delete those posts.

10. Make Sure You are 18+

Are you under 18? Sorry! Your AdSense application will not be approved since AdSense is for those who are 18+. Entering a wrong birth date might not work and even if it did, will cause serious issues later when you get payments. So be genuine, apply for AdSense when you are 18+.

How to Apply for AdSense?

Go to AdSense.com and enter the details. Your AdSense application will be reviewed by a team and they will send you an email in the registered email address if your blog is approved or disapproved.

What to Do If Your AdSense Application is Rejected?

There are 3 things you can do.
#1. Lose hope and say you are done blogging.
#2. Re-apply for AdSense correcting the probable mistakes you made and keep re-applying. Take gaps of 3 or 4 weeks before resubmission. If it keeps happening, take even longer breaks and then re-apply.
#3. Use other ad networks. AdSense is the best ad network, but it doesn’t mean others are bad. In fact, there are many ad networks which pay a good amount and you can make a nice income out of them.

Getting an AdSense approval is not as hard as many think it is if you have a good quality blog and if you are serious about blogging. All the 10 things to do before applying for AdSense comes under a single topic: Improve Blog Quality. Do you have a good quality blog? You get AdSense approval. it is as simple as that.
It has been proven that showing ads is not the best monetization method. Affiliate marketing and selling your own product can get you more income than AdSense. So start with AdSense, climb up to affiliate marketing and then to selling your own products and services.
Hope for the best!
